- In a large mixing bowl combine ingredients for the dough – Process everything until uniform dough forms - divide it into two parts - slice part of the dough - arrange the slices in a prepared baking pan
- shred the apples; mix them with honey, lemon zest and juice, cinnamon and sugar - spread the apples over the dough - grate the left over dough over the apple filling
- preheat the smoker to 375F - cook the cake for about 50 minutes - if the top gets too brown, cover it with aluminum foil – Remove from the smoker, cool 10-15 minutes before slicing
