- In a large bowl combine flour, salt, butter and egg - slowly add warm water - start kneading until smooth dough forms - cover with plastic and rest 30 min
- in a medium bowl combine chopped strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, zest and vanilla - on a flat surface roll out half of the dough - cut circles and place 1 tsp of the filling in the center
- fold the dough and seal the edge - drop carefully into pot with boiling water, don't crowd - cook few minutes, until they start to float - remove cooked pierogis using slotted spoon
- rest the dough - roll it thin - remove excess juice from the filling - don't overfill the pierogis - seal properly - don't crowd while cooking - cook gently (avoid boiling) - wait for them to float - serve warm
- dollop of sour cream - sprinkle of sugar - chocolate syrup - scoop of ice cream - topped with a berry sauce - dusted with powdered sugar
